New York City Icons & “Ghost the Musical” on Broadway
Friday, April 27 – Saturday, April 28
“Ghost
the Musical” opens on Broadway in March, direct from the London stage, and is
destined to be the runaway hit of the year. We’ll be among the first in
the US to see this timeless story about the power of love, based on the
Oscar winning film, which features new music and lyrics as well as the
classic Unchained Melody. Original
London cast members Richard Fleeshman and
Caissie Levy
will re-create their London roles in the Broadway production, directed by
Tony Award-winning director Matthew
Warchus. Portraying a disembodied spirit as one of the
main characters
provides plenty of
opportunities for their stunning special effects
and 'illusions,' and reviewers say that “Caissie Levy takes to the role of
Molly effortlessly with her vocals offering shivers to the spines of the
audience.” Besides the new musical, we’ll also
enjoy tours of some of the best-known icons of New York
City – NBC Studio, Lincoln Center for Performing Arts & Metropolitan
Opera House, Carnegie Hall, and the Waldorf
Astoria. On the NBC Studio Tour
through 30 Rockefeller Plaza, you will visit the NBC Sharp Globe Theater,
Broadcast Operations, the Make-up
Room, and get a backstage look at some of their most famous studios: The
Nightly News, Saturday Night Live, the Today Show, Late Night with
Jimmy
Fallon, msnbc,
and the Doctor Oz Show.
There are no guarantees of what, or who
you might see on the tour, as these are
working studios. On our guided tour of Lincoln Center, the world’s
premier performing arts center, we’ll see the Revson Fountain, the
newly transformed Alice Tully Hall
and the Metropolitan Opera
House. We’ll go behind the scenes, and may sit in on a rehearsal,
walk out onto a stage or meet a star – each tour is unique. We’ll also
experience the magic of Carnegie Hall, the concert hall that his inspired
artists for over a century on our guided tour. We’ll enjoy
an insider’s view of this great hall, and learn about the story of the Hall’s
construction and the legacy of the great
artists who have performed there. We’ll enjoy
a delicious luncheon buffet at the historic Waldorf Astoria, widely
recognized as one of the most significant examples of Art Deco art and
architecture in the world. This impressive New York
luxury hotel is a living museum of
design
and decorative ornamentation, filled with unusual paintings and striking
motifs. Enjoy a fascinating guided tour of the hotel,
focusing not only on the Waldorf's unique
historic and architectural heritage, but also on its legacy as a host to the
world, unparalleled culinary innovator and gourmet destination.
