The Seaside Villages of Maine

Sunday, May 23 – Tuesday, May 25

Maine Vacation At Anchorage By the Sea Ocean View Resort

We’ll overnight at the oceanfront hotel, Anchorage by the Sea in Ogunquit, just steps from Ogunquit shopping, restaurants, the Marginal Way and Perkins Cove.  The hotel boasts heated indoor and outdoor pools, poolside bar, and spacious, tastefully decorated rooms, most with ocean views.  We’ll take a tour of the villages of York with our local guide, then step back in time at the Museums of Old York, which is comprised of nine historic museum buildings that showcase a wealth of early New England art, archeitecture and decorative arts.  The Museum focuses on the stories of Southern Maine’s men, women and children and the world that they created from the earliest settlement in the 1600’s to the present day.  Relax at the hotel, then enjoy a delicious downeast lobsterbake at Jonathans Restaurant (or choose grilled steak tips).  Relish a leisurely morning stroll along Ogunquit's famed Marginal Way or relax at the hotel. Accessible at the edge of our hotel, Marginal way follows the rugged coast into picturesque Perkins Cove, Ogunquit's quaint fishing village which is spanned by a charming footbridge-drawbridge at its mouth. This tiny cove offers splendid scenery, and numerous small shops, restaurants and galleries housed in weathered fishing shacks.  We’ll enjoy a leisurely afternoon cruise past York’s elegant homes and rocky coast to Nubble Lighthouse aboard the Finestkind III.  The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy independently.  On our last day, we’ll head north for a guided tour of Kennebunkport to see the romantic Wedding Cake House, admire the lovely grounds and shrines at the Franciscan Monastery, see the contrasting sandy beaches and rocky coastline, and drive past the Bush estate while hearing about the history, culture and stories of the village.  We’ll take the scenic shore road past Ogunquit to the gorgeous Cliff House Resort & Spa that sits perched atop Bald Head Cliff, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch and have free time to explore this gorgeous property and enjoy the spectacular views before heading back home.  Package Includes: Two nights accommodations at the Anchorage by the Sea, two full breakfasts, one dinner, lunch at the Cliff House Resort, Lighthouse Cruise, tours of Kennebunkport and York, and the Museums of Old York.

$ 89 single supplement
